Time to do some MAJOR catch up!

I've put this off for over a year and now it the time to finally get caught up! I'm going to try to do months at a time from this past year but I'll start with finishing 2009 with Wrestling, Thanksgiving, and Christmas! Be patient!

Wrestling Fall 2009
Dallin brought home a flyer for wrestling and we though, why not! He is only 6 (almost 7) but they start them young here in Eastern Idaho so we decided to let him try it. Who know he'd be such a natural! I think it's the whole "2nd child syndrome". :-) He always wants to be as big as Kyle or do what he can do so I think that spirit really helps him in his matches. He did so well and really loves the sport!

Thanksgiving 2009
We got to have almost my whole family here. Just my brother Chris and his family couldn't make it from Missouri. It was a fun, crazy, chaotic, wonderful time! I learned that I need a LOT more serving dishes and platters and pots than I had. hahaha

LOTS of apples. You can never have too many apple pies!

My brother Bruno IV and his daughter Ashley

My sister-in-law Heidi and Bruno V

My niece Jayd and me cooking up a storm

My niece Alexis, a bit chilly

My sister Cayr helping with the yams and apples dish (our favorite!)

Christmas 2009
We had a great, quiet Christmas at home. We love having family over for Christmas Eve dinner and having the kids help to reenact the Christmas story and the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. They look forward to it all year long. We love hearing Papa's voice on the recording that they gave us of the story that we can follow along with and sing the different carols.

Snow and bald eagles
It was a relatively mild winter this year.

Let's finish out 2009

I know, finally! I'm going to do one giant post to finish out 2009 and then come back and do another one to start out 2010. Ready, set, GO!

PRESCHOOL!

Megan started her last year of pre-school before Kindergarten in September. She just loves it! Our good friend Karolyn does it in her home and it has been great.

MORE FUN with Meggy's hair.

CRAZY OVER CANNING!
After moving here, we realized we had some fun treats in our yard. One, was an apple tree! We went nuts canning and ended up not only doing apple sauce, apple butter, and apple jelly, but we were able to get some peaches plums and choke cherries and did Choke Cherry syrup, peaches, peach salsa, peach jam, peach berry jam, and plum jam.

We made a makeshift canning kitchen on the back porch and made it a family affair! Rain or shine! :-P

Sometimes, Megan would be off catching grasshoppers in the rain instead.

This picture is before all of the plum jam and choke cherry syrup. I wish we had a picture
of all of it! We have almost 2 hundred quarts and pints! Yay!!!

My brilliant husband realized we had a lot of yummy pulp left over after juicing all of the
plums so we used our dehydrator to make plum leather! YUMMMYYYY!!!!!!

And yes, we were exhausted! I didn't know Drostan took this one until I saw it later.

FAMILY VISITS!
Nana, Papa, and my brother Bruno's kids came up for a visit the beginning of September. They kids had fun playing in all the moving boxes, roasting hot dogs, and celebrating Nana and Papa's birthdays!

VINYL by Jenn
That's right, I now have my own business. It's growing a bit slower than I'd hoped but really I probably can't handle much more than I'm doing. I have a different blogspot for it if anyone is interested in anything. I need to update that one too. :-P

PRIMARY
When I got here, they put me in as a cub scout assistant. 3 weeks later, they called me to be in the primary presidency. Then, just 6 weeks later, they took the president into the Stake and made ME primary president. Oh yeah, just 1 week before the program!!!!!! :-S It has been crazy but a lot of fun.

SWINE FLU
Yup, it hit our family. Poor Kyle got it this Fall and was out for a week. I quarantined him to his room and brought him his meals and only let him out to shower and use the bathroom. I think he secretly loved getting to lie in bed and watch movies for a week. :-P Nana and Papa sent him a sweet gift to cheer him up. He really loved it.

HALLOWEEN
I feel horrible I didn't get all of the kids pictures taken but I did get Jaron's. He had fun helping me at the door and yelling "Happy Halloween!" to every Trick-or-Treater that came to our home.
